What is “social media marketing” really include
So the answer is everything that can increase an audience’s engagement level!
Here’s the deal…
There is the fact that the social web is an excellent platform to create leads, boost brand awareness, and profit from significant results…
It’s not as easy as throwing up a random posting now and then and cramming your captions with hashtags, or requesting people to join your email list, or to purchase your products and products and…
Remember that the social web’s main purpose has always been and always will be the creation of relationships.
Therefore, your social media strategy should be geared towards building relationships first and first and foremost.
Your primary goal shouldn’t be on making greater profits… the goal is to create more faithful fans.
To accomplish this, it is important to be thinking about things such as…
Engaging captions, images, and videos with engaging captions, images and
Reels
Tik-toks
Participating live with your audience
Posting polls & quizzes
Doing Q&As
The list could go without end!
Also, of course, paid ads and advertising posts or sponsored content user-generated content can play a major role in social media marketing…
However, these should be considered when you’ve completed the work to build relationships and trust with your target audience.
So let’s break it down a bit further…
Engaging Content
This may seem a bit obvious, but this is a mistake I’ve seen many users making on social networks.
If each post you publish requires people to purchase something from you or sign up to your mailing list, you’re bound to lose a significant amount of people who follow you and severely hurt your social engagement.
In addition, users on social media tend to remain active on their social networks (and do not visit other sites or websites).
The social media sites are very much in favor of the users. They have to remain at their posts. That means that their algorithm won’t be favoring posts that are a catalyst for users away from the platform.
By constantly adding the CTA on your posts to visit a website or click a link to websites (which will result in fewer comments and likes for the post), You’re reducing your reach since platforms like Instagram will only display your posts to their users if they are actively engaged with the post.
Yikes–bummer, right?
The best general rule is to offer your fans the things they’ve come for: inspiration or education.
I like to ensure my posts always follow the “Four Pillars” of social media content: Promotional, educational, personal, and engagement/relatability.
Where…
Promoting Posts This is clearly a way to promote the product you offer to the people who will be using it. This is the type of marketing you may consider as being more “traditional marketing.”
Educational posts Delivering insane value through free education or motivation.
personal posts It’s about building a relationship with your customers. They will learn more about you, your story and your personal quirks, interests, and everything else you consider “irrelevant” to your business!
Engagement posts: This is your chance to interact with your followers, ask them questions, and learn about their wants, needs, and desires.
I break down the four pillars further, with examples and swipe copy to help you use them–in my free Cheatsheet to write CTAs that are Click-worthy and CTAs.
The best general rule is to ensure that these posts are on a regular basis. If you are posting four days a week, you will have a different pillar posted each day, rinse and repeat!
Your audience will never get bored with seeing the same promotional material repeatedly… again and repeatedly.
Here’s a second Hot tip Be aware that you should post certain of the best content to social media, and yes, absolutely nothing!
Particularly just beginning the process of establishing your target audience.
Your focus should be on creating relationships, delivering value, building trust, and bringing people to be enthusiastic about being a part of your team!
Once you’ve completed this crucial front-end work, you’re ready to start planning the next stage involving social media…
